SUAA(SG) Christmas party

Alumni History

There has always been an SU Alumni presence in Singapore for a long time, but the group never officially got together because of so many reasons.

On july 14, 2001 the first meeting of alumni in Singapore gathered 15 people including a visiting Alumnus, the late Arnaldy R. Quismundo.
The meeting was held at the Gumapon's residence in Woodlands.

The formation of the Chapter - Emilio Chiu was appointed to be the presiding officer for the meeting.

The group agreed to name the chapter
Silliman University Alumni Association of Singapore- SUAA(SG)

Currently most officers are still the same ones elected on that day:

President: Arlyn
V.P: Cesa Framil who took over Noel when he left for the UK
Secretary: Jean
Treasurer: Fedie

Board of Directors:

Henry Framil - passed away in Sept 2003

Jon Cortes

There was a review of the Constitution and bylaws of the SU Alumni and within the year the group came up with one that is suitable for the association in Singapore.

Since then, the group has continued with each year celebrating Founder's Day as the focal point.

As of 2010, there has been a steady surge of activity with a new batch of members to keep the Silliman spirit alive and burning, the SUAA(SG) is an officially recognized Chapter of Silliman University, Philippines and will grow to greater heights as time goes by.
